How do I register?

Registration is performed by default when you start Gippos the first time. At this moment you're assigned a GID (Gippos IDentifier).

Where is my GID displayed?

Your GID is displayed on the Login tab of the Settings window.

What should I do to let my friends see me on the map?

Tell your registered friends your GID so that they add you to their contact lists. Select the Visible for friends or Visible for all option in My relocation list on the GPS tab of the Settings window.

How many friends can I add to my contact list?

You can add to your contact list as many users as you wish.

What should I do to show my location to an unregistered user?

Tell him or her your GID assigned at registration (e.g. 12345) and select the Visible for all option in My relocation list on the GPS tab of the Settings window. The unregistered user will be able to see your location after specifying your GID at www.gippos.com. You can also give this user a direct link, in our example it is http://gippos.com/12345

Is it possible that criminals will be able to follow me?

No, unless you select the Visible for all option in My relocation list on the GPS tab of the Settings window.

How do I change my password?

For changing password you should get online and specify a new password in the Password field of the Profile tab in the Settings window. The new password will be used at the next connection.

I can't connect to the server. What should I do?

Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet and that you specified a correct GID and password.

How much does Gippos software cost?

Gippos software is free.

Are you planning to release Gippos for other software platforms?

Yes, soon Gippos for iPhone and for PC (win32) will be released.

How can I exchange messages with users of another jabber servers, e.g. gmail.com?

Just add a user of another jabber server to your contact list. For this select the Add jabber user item in the contact list menu and specify your friend's jabber ID.
